Welcome to the Banbury Business Breakfast Club, one of North Oxfordshire’s oldest networking groups.

Originally formed in 1992, the group affectionately known as ‘the Brekkie Club’ has met pretty regularly since then. Like most organisations, we had a couple of years off when the pandemic struck.

The Brekkie Club was re-launched on 14 July 2022, after Shaun Jardine (Mediation Zone), Marie Parkinson (OJI Marketing) and Neil Wild (Wild Property Consultancy and Banbury Chamber of Commerce) got together and decided they were all in urgent need of a bacon roll and camaraderie!

The aim of the Brekkie Club is to enable members to meet in a relaxed atmosphere (both online and in person), to exchange views, ideas, thoughts, information, business orientated ideas and updates about the North Oxfordshire area. It also allows members to form and build business connections and, where appropriate, blatantly, unashamedly, unreservedly, without fear or favour, advertise their organisation and its latest products or services.

You do not need to formally apply or submit anything to become a member. The Brekkie Club is open to all businesses – large and small.

Meeting Dates

The Brekkie Club aims to meet on the second Thursday of every month.

There might be the odd occasion when the dates change to fit in with a speaker’s diary, but you can probably be 95% certain that between now and the end of time, meetings will take place on the second Thursday of the month.

Venues

Venues will change from month to month to support the wide range of restaurants, pubs, and clubs/venues in the Banbury area.

We like to spread the Brekkie Club love and introduce members and guests to a variety of venues in the North Oxfordshire area.

If you know of a venue that might be suitable for a Brekkie Club meeting, please do drop us a line.

Guest speakers

We will be inviting guest speakers from time-to-time.

Our aim is that speakers will educate, inform, and entertain.

A direct sales pitch is not encouraged.

We hope to hear from interesting people who have a story to tell.

Frequently Asked Questions

We have tried to anticipate some of the questions that might pop into your head.

  • Answer no. The only rule regarding payment is please pay for your breakfast on the event that you attend.

  • It depends. We do want our speakers to educate and entertain and inform. It does help if the speakers have some experience in public speaking.
The subject of any presentation must appeal to the whole other membership.

A speaking slot cannot be a direct sales pitch. If you have a story to tell, please contact Shaun Jardine and let’s have a conversation.

  • Probably £10. We say probably because that’s what we ask venues to try and keep to. If the price increases, we will let you know before you book.

  • The venue does. It’s your responsibility to get your receipt on the day.
Please don’t start trying to get a receipt from us after the event.

  • We will be sending out newsletters updating members of what went on and dates of next meetings etc. We have a LinkedIn group that you are welcome to join as well.

  • No, you don’t. A committee member will happily introduce you to the group as a whole.

  • The answer is probably yes. We charge a nominal fee to sponsor an event of £95.00, which goes towards defraying some of the costs of running the club.

Details of the sponsorship package appear further up the page of the website.

  • We ask members and prospective members and guests to book to attend our meetings via Eventbrite. Its free to use. You just pay the venue for your breakfast on the day of the meeting.

Eventbrite booking links appear on our LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter accounts. Follow us on one of those and you won’t go far wrong.
We will also send out links in our newsletters, so subscribe for those as well.
